are you screening the dirt? I've been in shelters here in Tx. that have been dug out and did some screening of the throw dirt and came up with quite a few points, that is why I ask...

Great finds & pics thanks for showing.I'd love to dig a place like that. Are you planning on digging deeper at that spot? Good luck on future digs...

im using 1/4 inch hardware clothe to sift the dirt through.
i can only go maybe a foot or so more then ill be on bedrock.
there is a stream of water through the middle of the shelter that i can see it is on bedrock. only a foot or so left but itll be the hardest and wettest to deal with.
its more clay like and yellowish. not to sure if ill find anything in it but im gonna try.

From looking at the pics of the shelter entrance I would dig all the soil from between the rocks and run that thru my sifter also...Have a friend that does that and finds lots of points that most people wouldn't find...Course, he is kinda nuts, uses a bottle jack to lift the rocks...

we are using a cum along and choker cables to move them, not gotten to these to move yet. gotta clear a spot ill never want to dig again to put them at 1st.

ain't that the truth... :icon_thumleft:

That is just a fun dig. You guys are getting out some great points. It looks like Hamiltons to paleo so they must have used that one spot for say Ten thousand years ? You guys have done well. Have you seen any other shelters in the area?
Great Post Treefrog thanks for sharing the adventure.

Might find a cache ya never know. The only cache I ever found was in the roots of a giant tree that flipped over.I do not know if there was a grave there and washed away or someone just stashed a couple items. Hope you find one. We got some bears on some cams near some shelters I am doing in Febuary.
Could be a wrestling match going on :hello2:
