The "rampant" lions (a term from Heraldry) on the anchor emblem indicate England ...so my guess is English Navy. The buckle itself appears to have "rounded" right and left sides. Because we have only a full-frontal shot of it, I can't be sure, but it looks like a 20th-century web (fabric) waist-belt buckle. Like what I wore in high-school ROTC, back in 1965.

The round white-metal item at upper left in the photo is a woman's cosmetics-container top (possibly for rouge), apparently also of 20-century manufature.

I would expect a crown in the design if it were from the Royal Navy. I found the same buckle for sale, but new and "cheaper" looking. The site had no info on where the design came from, so link would be irrelevant... but I'll keep looking.

Goood point, Ben. I'd forgotten about the crown ...and it ought to be there if it's a Royal Navy buckle. Still, those lions do like the English symbol's lions. ;-)
