Top photo looks like a rusted out spade bit, the bottom is a ferrule from an old lamp possibly, Does the clyiner thing make a black mark on paper like a pencil? if so it might be a carbon rod from an arc lamp.....

I'll try the cylinder thing. The lamp ferrule is a good poss. It's weird how the kid on the easy coast found the exact same item within a month of me finding this.
