Did some more door knocking with Jimzilla and got a couple of permissions. Pretty poor for silver, but did turn up a few keepers for both of us. The KG II is quite nice for a ground find. My buddy Jimmy pulled one of the nicest shield nickels I've ever seen come out of the ground, an 1866.

Very nice KG

That KGII is exceptional. Great finds!

Love the KG II Don. That's a pretty wide date range of finds there.

Wonderful specimen you have there. I've found many KG 2's but only one that looked as good as yours. But man don't they feel nice to find?!

Congrats on a showpiece!

Some nice soil you got there. That early buff alone wouldn't have stood a chance around here in most this dirt. Killer early copper

That KG is fantastic Don! You do great with the permissions. Hope you continue killing the coins like you have been

Wow, exceptional condition on that KG Jr. I'd like to see a picture of the shield nickels as well. Shield nickels tend to hold up ok, it's those V nickels that I can hardly ever identify

Awesome finds! The KG is in incredible shape

Man you are killing it this season. Congrats on digging those 6 keepers. I also like your Best Finds for 2016.

Very nice coins, I'm jelly.

Considering that I didn't get out last year until March 16th because of snow and frozen ground,,
and the fact that you are about 50 miles north of me,, the finds you have made so far this year
are putting you in an uncatchable place.
Congrats on a Super Outing and hope to run into you again.

I've been lucky with a few of my KG's. The recent find is at left and two I found last year at a club hunt including the farthing. All dates 1749. Maybe it was something in the copper that year as most of the KG's I find are toasted.

The shield nickel my buddy Jimzilla found is killer. This is just after it came out of the ground and rubbing away a little dirt. Photo doesn't do justice.
