Well even more from the same area I've found a lot of copper in already..
At a good 9" deep I get this Murray-Black Co. Springfield-Ohio copper something? Kinda looks like a picture/mirror holder as it stands up like one? or possibly a tool of some sort, it was so green out of the ground that it is officially the most tarnished copper I've ever had (should've taken a before pic). A real hot acid bath took care of that in about an hour or so! 52 grams
A matching buckle to the one I found a week ago from Rau F Co. Providence, RI. This one is a little bent tho. The one that's clean in the pic is the one I found last week & has been cleaned a lot. I'm not going to clean the 2nd one so people can see the difference. 17.5 grams (each)
Misc copper from around an old ceramic light fixture. 11 grams
Copper early 1900's door knob that has been in a fire & quite melted. 113 grams
A couple small pieces of flat sheet copper, 18.5 grams
Copper Auto/tractor battery connector & some of the copper wire, 20 grams
Piece of copper S shaped very thick rod/wire, 38.5 grams
Copper unknown piece of ?, it's thick & broken, dunno what it is, 32.5 grams
Also not pictured are two 60's Lincolns, (6 grams) & a clad quarter, dime, nickle pocket spill.
@ 309 grams it's about 10 troy ounces so this is pushing 3/4's of a pound of copper from just this last trip.
I'm at about or just over 3 lbs of copper, 1.5 lbs of aluminum, 1 lb of yellow brass, 1 lb of white/silver brass, 1 lb of lead & over 12 lbs of miscellaneous rusted junk iron &/or steel + some pot metal & old car trim metal too. 2 wheat's, 35 Lincolns, 5 dimes, 3 nickles, 1 quarter, 1 80% silver 52' Belgium 20F, tootsie toy roadster, old Van Camp padlock body, 2 marbles, 3 keys, 2' chain & a master lock all from this site so far & I know there is still a whole lot more! The silver has been rough to find as the area is just so littered with junk & too much buried rusty old iron everywhere not to mention the aluminum pull tabs (50+ so far) + all the crushed slaw. This area is an old yard of a house that's been gone since the mid 70's, it's about a 1/2 acre or a little less & goes back to the 1920's. The US silver has eluded me here so far but I'm not done just yet! Hopefully once I get most of the trash gone I will find some silver!
