Ancient gold treasure found near the Bulgarian town of Varna

Varna. A new gold treasure was found near the Bulgarian town of Varna, the Director of the Regional Historical Muzeum Dr. Valentin Pletnyov said in an interview for FOCUS Radio – VARNA. The treasure was found in the Southern part of the town and includes 3 gold rings, 2 ear rings and many golden coins. According to Pletnyov, the treasure dates back to the second half of 14th century – and the Bulgarian Kings Mihail and Ivan Aleksandar. According to the archeologist, the items were hidden from the Turks shortly before Bulgaria was conquered.
The treasure will be exhibited in the town’s museum.
