Hello.... last weekend I was detecting the site of one of Montana’s early fur trade forts.
I found the items shown in the display case which included a lead bag seal, flat button (‘fine gold colour’ marked), fired
round balls, clay pipe bowl, trade beads, and square head nails. The items in the display case are all shown for scale. The item I cannot identify is the small 1” x 1/2” scalloped device, very thin metal (brass/copper), no thicker than a razor blade. Any ideas? Reminded me of shoulder scale but obviously waaay too small at 1” x 1/2”, but segments or sections appear missing
I appreciate any help. Thank you in advance

Maybe a fragment of a cross pendant or gorget.
