Mom always said it never hurts to ask. A few days back I was reading some threads, one was by a guy(Vino, junior member) about a church he was doing in old Phila. Pa. Long story short I sent him a PM titled, "Mom always said....." and asked if he wanted any help. Next thing you know I'm on the phone with him for about an hour and a half. Today he had me come up and help him metal detect the church grounds. I'll let him tell you what he found, but I found some very cool stuff. My two hour hunt started with a regiment button
Then a Large cent, which after some real efford and the help of my sons 19 yr old eyes, I managed to pull a date of 1810, a Classic Head Cent
A religious token
A couple strange artifacts, clad, key and lead
My head is still reeling from the excitement of the finds and Vino's generosity of letting me hunt with him. Thank you again George, you have made me a very happy detectorist. Hopefully this will be the first of many hunts together and I'll be able to find as awesome of a site to detect together for him some day. (very tough act to follow).
Thanks for looking, and HH everyone!!!!
Almost forgot the wheaties, I found four of them, 1910, 1915, 1940, and a 1946
I cleaned up the pendant and took a shot with my phone, I put this on "what is it?" forum.
I'm hoping I could get a id on this find. Thanks!
Brad
