Molten Bubble??

I live in East Texas and found these rock along a bank of a lake close by. Does anyone have any idea as to what type rock this is? I think it is iron on the bottom and partly on the sides and touching it is a deep red like powder. It make me think that this area was a molten lake bed and there is alot of iron ore around here.

Possibly petrified mud that Iron leached into!

hmmmm...I never thought of mud becoming petrified. But if is in capsuled in iron and red in the iron leached into the mud explains why when handled it leaves very red covered palms and counter tops stained. Very good Frank! And A big thank you for serving our Freedom!!!
