Mokelumne river

This river as with many other rivers in California have been worked since the Gold Rush era and still give up its hidden bounty...

West of Hi way 49 will get ya nuttn' but trouble. In the 1994 Dredge committee meeting we were offered a chance to be PAID by the yard to dredge with 8-10-12" dredges AND keep the gold as that stretch of river is cemented in place. BUT committee killed and NO projects or 12+ openings thanx to miners rights(wrongs) groups-John

sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much gold to never be mined, but what's even worse the CDFG studied that stretch down to the powerhouse road and there is NOT a single fish that can spawn in that cement so many miles deadr' than a doornail to US and the fish....sic sic sic...greed kills all-We had the PAID testing grounds to prove once and for all that dredging is GREAT for the rivers,no mercury contamination, increase spawning grounds, establish a working relationship to the OTHER 3 projects they wanted us to dredge also for GOLD AND CASH PER YARD--John:BangHead:

These cemented gravels from previous hydraulic operation, or remenants of ancient tertiary channel?

SMUD flexed their muscle many many years ago and as long as this ol'dredge dog can remember all west a 49 closed but decent gold east on private property that abounds-John

Looks like the Enviros are after the Mokelumne as well, to bad they won't let us dredge it and get it back to a more Natural State when the creeks ran hard and muddy moving gravel down the river, like a dredge would do.

I have to laugh when reading the link: "Senator Hancock says state designation would ensure the river remains open for RECREATIONAL and TRADITIONAL uses
which benefits the foothill communities and their economies." These people have amazingly short memories !
