modern vs cw?

in area of cw skirmishes. Found this small bullet. Also three .30 lead balls together in same area. Not sure of age of this based on caliber. Any help appreciated.

I say not CW. The grooves appear to have the vertical lines in them. I don't think they did that before the 1880s or so. Probably old, just not Civil War old.

looks like round nose .38 pistol bullet…..modern (at least post cw)

thanks so much for the quick replies. I too thought 38 but couldn't really find an example with that type of groove.
