Just curious if this is familiar to anyone.

I know, not much to go on but the area is old. I'll try for better pics but my camera is on strike.

Thanks!

Is there a hole for a handle?

To tell the truth, I don't know. It is pretty encrusted. The last pic above shows the view from underneath. Best I can say is, maybe? :dontknow:

My first thought was a spike tomahawk, but with no hole for a handle that wouldn't work, so my second thought ins a bent chisel, something like a stone mason would use???

Well, it does have a bit of a curve to it, like a tomahawk. It's soaking in some vinegar to see if it'll loosen the rust. Might be easier to tell then.

Thanks!

Spike Tomahawk ... there was a hole and it's the lob in about the middle of the body that filled with rust and dirt from years of decay . It may have been old at the time it was lost . I think I just saw one like that a few years in a collection of Colonial period items from the Revolutionary War .... very cool . Woodstock

Ok, here's as clean as I can get it, still a tomahawk or maybe a stone chisel? I'm thinking blade of some sort because the blade is sooo thin.

Opinions?
