Had a look out today and tried a couple of new fields :P both had just been ploughed and rolled the soil was just like sand it looked good, but that's all it was

I moved to the second field :P this wasn't much better full of buttons after about 20 in 30 minutes I give it up, and went to the Villa field were I pulled out a Bull head Shilling the only Silver of the day anyway there's a few bits to look at including a couple of quite large bullets, which I think I will post in whatsits

looks about typical for my area also. but it's well worth the effort, where are the Romans from the Villa site? l'm waiting for the sugar beet to be lifted from my Villa site and l hope for a new set of Roman coins then. Hutch.

My Villa field has only been disced this year so only a few Roman Bronzes have come off, I have give it a real going over, and have had 14 Silver denarius from it, but none this year

Those are some nice finds man.

That 1817 is a nice looking coin. That field looked like it was a nice place to hunt.

The fields I was allowed on the other day looked like Wimbledon I double checked with the farmer and he said it was
fine to dig it up as long as I put it back!
I didn't feel comfortable doing that though, but the field I chose hadn't started growing yet!
