Hey all, need some insight from you guys. Found civil war and possibly other things.

Here is a snapshot of the items in question showing size next to a measuring tape.

The first "group" is the civil war bullet with three grooves. The weird thing about the bullet is it looks like it was deliberately shaped into s rectangle. From my limited research it seems to be Confederate?

The other thing is the horseshoe. This thing is huge (see above). It was found 5 feet from the bullet. Do you think they are from the same period or related? I'm thinking the horseshoe is way too big. Looks like it belongs on a Clydesdale.

The buckle/fastener is pure iron and was found in an adjacent field near this "button" that seems to be a modern artifact. Have you seen or know what this buckle/fastener might be?

Last item is an adjustable foot for shelving or the like.

PM BosnMate about the horseshoe. He is very knowledgeable about them.

If the last two pictures go together, that is if the button has a screw post, then it is the side button from the chinstrap of a U.S. Navy cap: U.S. Navy Complete/Combination Cap

Yes the last two pictures are of the same item. That is very interesting, thank you for the information and link. Strange how something like that would be found mixed in with this stuff.

Congrats on the nice relic's.

Thanks digger! I just got a XP Deus and am still in the learning process. I have been very impressed with the adjustability of this machine.

It was 99 degrees this afternoon so I did not hunt too long lol.

I'd say that is a carved bullet. Soilders would carve them into game pecise or just whittle on them out of boredom. Very cool and personal find!

Thank you! I wondered about that, but thought it might have been hammered because the groves were still visible.

Your iron buckle with the little "T" protruding from the top appears to be a football shoulder pad buckle. I find them all the time at school fields. Sub 8-)

It could have been hammered. What ever was done was more than likely done by a soldier witch makes it one of a kind. I have been lucky enough to find several carved bullets. They are one of my favorite finds.

Thanks again relic! This is actually my first ever civil war bullet so I'm pretty happy.
