We got out today and Instead of our usual mulch and sand areas, Bobbie wanted to grass hunt instead. So we concentrated on some older schools today in hopes of making some older finds. At our last spot out towards the back of the field Bobbie dug this button up. It is what looks like a cuff button with eagle grasping arrows, there are 13 stars along the outer edge and on inside of button there is still some guild. My question for you guys who relic hunt is , Is this a civil war cuff button. I have found few minnie balls at this same school in the past.
I found a 1948 rosie, and a 10k ring that has yellow and white gold. We also found a couple of foreign coins and about $10.00 in clad also.
Im definitely not used to grass hunting anymore as stiff as a board now ;D
hh to all
and congrats on some great finds today

Dave, Your button is a Confederate local. I could not find an exact match to it in my research, so it may be a rare specimen. trk5capt...

It looks real to me, a nice find. Post what you find out about it.

Woow!!! Thats a great day of hunting.

Great day for finds D&B, congrats on those goodies! You got some good exercise out there as well. HH, Mike

Look at you two go!

Very nice finds!

;)

Great finds. So being a little sore after hours and hours of digging plugs in the grass is normal. Thank you. Starting thinking I was getting old. My back and shoulder are still sore from yesterdays hunting. HH

Nice find on the button. Although I am a newbie, and I am sure the seasoned hunters know a lot more than I do, I will give my two cents since I do know a little about the Army...hence the picture.....The button looks like a standard issue cuff button that you can find on any ROTC class "A" uniform at most High schools. But hopefully I am wrong.

?In fact...I just checked my class "A" uniform and it is the same button.
