They certainly seemed to go right along with bush propaganda when he was trying to justify the Iraqi invasion? Didnt see much questioning or good reporting then either.

Obviously most of the press definitely has a liberal bent (not denying that), but just not sure if its that or simply poor reporting??

I don't think so. No one questioned the claims of WMD, Iraqi links to 9/11, Iraq developing nukes, etc, etc. the entire justification for going waging the Iraq war. They got on his case once we were up to our necks in manure but didnt do crap to keep us out.

Did anyone with half a brain really think Iraq had anything to do with 9-11. Come on!!

Probably because the majority of Democrats were also pushing the war.

Dave, not sure what you are talking about as pressure from first bush, Clinton and the UN had forced Iraq to destroy its WMD before 2nd Bush's invasion. Also that doesn't bother me as much as linking Iraq to 9/11 and alqueda which of course is totally bogus and obviously so.

Yeah, I agree with Picker. We shouldn't have gone to Iraq or anywhere else. We should fight them when they come here. That really makes the most sense. It's just wrong going over there just to break their stuff, and use drones to kill them without giving them a chance. After all, they just do a little murder and mayhem, it's not like they are going to take over the entire country. Just because the democrat congress voted for the US to go to war in Iraq, it's all Bush's fault. And think about it, because Dan Rather is a damn liar, is no reason we shouldn't believe him and the crap the rest of the liberal press put out at the time, and as far as that goes, still do. Yup, all Bush, democrats set him up and he bit. I'm sure it's much much better just to let our diplomats die and lie about it to the public, than to think about hurting one of them ---- I can't say what I'm thinking, I'll get in trouble. Picker, you are one of the very best hindsight generals I've ever seen. We should all pay attention to you, after all, just because you talk like you know what you are talking about doesn't mean a thing. When bush was building up his "justification" you didnt get the sneaking suspicion that he was really stretching it - like with the "they might have nukes", etc remember the yellow cake debacle. And frankly as we all know from North Korea if we actually thought they had nukes the LAST thing we would ever do would be to invade.

Completely agree with Egypt/Libya. Big diff is we did not involve ground troops. I'm actually not an isolationist as I believe you have to bring the fight to the enemy and NOT wait until they are on your doorstep. I prefer more unconventional ware fare as opposed to mass ground troops. I think our use of drones, stealth, spec ops and spec forces is definitely the way to go. Can't let the terrorists organize - have to keep them running and hiding.

Deep it's funny that I'm actually considered quite conservative by most who know me. But I guess it's all relative!!

I've been maxing out the payments into SS and Medicare since age 29 and have send well into the seven figures to the Feds - so I know the sting of the tax man quite well. I consider myself fortunate to have made what I have. Obviously I am under no illusion that I will ever see any of that money back. I consider it a payment for the opportunities presented by living in this country. But believe me it does not stop me from complaining about me tax bill every year. Will my views change as i age - maybe - only time will tell. Best
