...and it got it in the form of four wheats and a ring today at the woods. I met up with Kermit, Mike, and Bill-T (nice guy!) near where I found my 10-coin pocket spill last week. We decided to try an area Kermit had studied using old aerial maps. I wasn't finding anything for a while, a wheat here, a wheat there. Kermit was sucking up those coins like a damn vaccuum. I dug a ring in a very quiet, very secluded section of the woods, where I wasn't getting any signals at all otherwise (even iron was elusive). It was right up against an old tree...notice a trend here? I thought it was odd that a gold wedding band came up as a penny, but then I noticed that the ring was actually copper, and gold-plated I believe. There are hallmarks inside the band, it is a number 14 and what appears to be an Arabian crown or headpiece. If anyone knows what this signifies, please let me know!
Later, as exhaustion was taking hold of me, I began detecting an area all of us knew about well. It is an area particularly laden with iron. Why, you ask? Those in the know, know It has been worked before with nothing to show for it. I decided to attempt to isolate any good signals amongst the screaming, bleating, sharp signals of the iron. I got something of a decent signal, dug it, and there it was- an old Missouri tax token! And not long after I talked to Kermit and Bill-T about how I couldn't care less about tokens because I never ever find any (except your average Wednesday Company, Little Caesar's, and Chuck-E-Cheese tokens of modern day). Well, this is another first for me. Now I'm sure they'll all fall on me from now on.
It was good to get out, good to see Mike, Kermit, and nice to meet Bill-T. I'm sure you'll all hear about Kermit's friggin' stash! The wheats are 1909, 1910, 1934, and 1946. If they look like they are in bad shape, it's because they are, lol. Have a great weekend.
