Missed out on a hunt of a lifetime!!! Big, Old, Silver!!

My buddies called me Sat afternoon to join them for a hunt at a new site they just got permission at. I was already huntin at my new site so I told them I'd pass this time. BOY O'BOY did I screw up!!!! Not 1 but 2 8 reales and a 50C piece!!!! Plus 4 LC. That was all in an hour, their field was still froze pretty good bein on the north side of the woods. It's in cornstalks right now so what will pop out when you can get a coil close to the ground!! I WILL DEF BE GOIN THERE THE NEXT TIME!!!!! Dates are 1835 & 1836 on the reales and 1813 on the 50C!!! The LC were all from the 1830's. Sounds like somebody forgot where they buried their jar of coins!!!!!! And I thought I was doin good at my new site!! HH....

Those are some sweet Mexican 8 Reales, you just do not see those things ever dug up but very rarely. Congrats to them on all that sweet silver!!!

I'm with you there on findin MY first aswell!! I never see that many 8 reales posted let alone 2 in 1 hunt. Myself I would have rather found the Capped bust in great shape!!! Hopefully there are some more of those!! I'm sure Rick has a beautiful collection!! HH....

They are how many people ? and how were the silver divided up, did one guy get both big 8s, etc.
That sure is good results even if a few dudes./dudetts.
All found in an hour, that puzzles me though, did they leave after only one hour, or just had on HOT hour ?
You never know there could be many more.

They are 2 brothers, 1 got the 1835 and the other got the capped and 1836. They were under time restraints to begin with, that's one of the reason's I declined their offer. I didn't want to drive all that way up there for just a short hunt and bein the site is on the north side of the woods the ground was still pretty frozen. It bein in cornstuble doesn't help either. We already have plans on goin back as soon as the weather breaks! My 5" coil should KILL in there!!!! HH...
