I hit a GW last night on the way home from work. I checked the jewelry first then went back to the silver plate. By the item I got to the artwork I saw an amazing 14” square painting of a beach scene somewhat abstract but great color. A few steps ahead of me a woman grabbed it and put it in her cart. I started talking to her and she said she was keeping it because at $4.99 and at that price it was one she could not leave behind. She let me look at it and it was professionally framed and signed Jane Schmidt original. It was also signed in the back Jane Schmidt c 2008. It was super WW (wall worthy). When we looked up her comps on Ebay and online I almost you know what….. her works are listed from $800 - $2000. The woman got a great piece at an incredible price. Lost it by a few seconds! L

That sucks. But remember the next time you "score" you beat someone else out.

Reminds me of a time last summer when my wife and I were at a yard sale and I reached towards a flatware box that was full of stuff and the lady standing next to it quickly says " I'm sorry but I just bought that". My outside voice said " oh ok, thanks!" My inside voice said " you suck!!!" [emoji12] I guess we can't win them all!!

This has never happened to me. If someone were to beat me to a piece of fine art, I would snatch it and run! :-) I did have a seller one time agree to my offer on a bike. I drove about 45 minutes to him. When I'm in his town, the coward called me and told me that his "wife" had gotten upset with him because he was going to sell it to me at the agreed price. I ended the conversation right away! He should have just said no to my offer, and that would have been the end of that, but to have me drive over there and pull a "my wife" b.s? :-) I'm sure that you'll be ready next time. Opportunity never ceases to amaze me!

There is a difference between and inside and outside voice. I always use the outside voice. oops.

Would this $100 bill make you think otherwise???
