Finally we had a good amount of rain on Thursday that somewhat soften the ground although its quickly drying again!
We are still scratching our heads were to go, our 'Plan A' was a deep ploughed ankle breaker. But good to know has they will deep plough the whole farm. (first time in years & includes several Sites like Shot-gun Alley) Something to look forward to either in the Spring or Winter if they level it a bit.
Anyways, that meant this field - Plan B.
Nice any easy to dig for a chance but still pretty warm with little cloud cover, so managed 5 hours 15 mins;

I walked out to start the unusual 'L Shaped' grid we were going to deploy today & first swing I got a Hammered. Normally 'Kiss of Death'.

Medieval small Beast Head Leather Mount
French Jetton (early type)
Near Blank Will III Shilling with Counter-Stamps (sometimes referred to as Irish Slap Tokens)
4 Hammered;
Broken Ed I Penny
Poor condition Edward (not sure which), York Mint Penny
Edward III Halfpenny (Star Issue)

Henry VI 1430-31 Calais Mint GROAT;
It's rare to find these Groats as nice as this one - Well found Cru'dad:hello2:

Nice, looks like it was hammered only yesterday...just incredible!

Amazing finds as always. Coins and relics I can only dream about. I love that you post your finds here for us to see. It's so awesome the ancient history there. Keep it up!
