i have a problem i need some help with i recently purchased this ring that is marked BX 925 (sterling silver) when i got it i did a acid test for silver and it failed i thought it was odd becuase most fake 925 silver does not have a markers mark also so i started to test it for other metals and tested it for 10k it passed then i tested it with 14k acid and it disappeared right away i know some people do not use 10k acid as it is weak but i left it on the scratch for 30mins+ and still did not disappear my question is can silver and gold be mis stamped for the wrong metal?is it possble? the stones in the ring i think they are white topaz and the ring weighs over 30g i sanded a spot of the band and put the silver acid directly on the ring and still nothing no change what so ever (not even green or blue for fake silver or copper) i am lost any help would greatly appreciated i will post pics of the test and ring thank you!
