There is a graduate student in our rock club in NM that is on the short list to go to Mars in about 10 years. His specialty is Martian rocks.
Only problem I see is it's a one way ticket, no return. I hope in ten years some solution will be found to get them back. Even so there are still a lot of volunteers of all ages and abilities.
