I wonder if anyone has come across one of these little ax's.....I forgot I had this, and while cleaning out my metal detector case, I came across it........I found this in a cornfield about 40 years ago behind my Grandparents house. I keep it in my metal detector case in case another "dector" might be able to identify it.....appreciate any help!
Looks like a tool to open & seal cigar boxes. DD.

I have never seen one, but that sure is a neat little treasure!

Well it looks like a roofing hatchet but it must be for putting a roof on a doll house. Looks pretty neat, I hope you get a positive ID on it.

Very cool, I have seen something similar, where a hardware store used these for advertising.

I think Carrie Nation had a symbol of an ax. If there is evidence of a back pin on it, it could be from her movement.

Nice find !!!!! :icon_thumright: Carry Nation sold miniture hatchet lapel pins to finance her crusade. Here is a picture of one. HH

During the 2nd Civil War, each calvary division had 3 men who threw mini hatchets like throwing stars. The men wore wool snuggies, and rode around whipping little axes through the enemy. You are definately on top of a 2nd Civil war battle ground.

(looks like a little toy axe to be honest)
