Does anyone know of a good resource that can clarify Mineral Withdrawal laws?
I know that here in the Black Hills of South Dakota there are some areas that have been withdrawn. One in particular is a portion of Spring Creek, downstream from Sheridan Lake. I have read websites and talked to other prospectors. The results are confusing. Some say the withdrawal only affect staking a claim and that we can still pan and sluice for gold as long as we are not staking a claim. Others say that it means no prospecting or mining of any kind. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
