The 6" & 5x10" coils will be more sensitive to smaller targets than the 10.5", but don't have the depth capability.
Also, of the three the 6" is the only one that is waterproof. The 5x10" & 10.5" are only water resistant, which means that they can take being hosed off, worked in wet grass, or the occasional wave splash, but shouldn't be submerged.
The 5x10" & 6" will run about the same depth.
The 5x10" will obviously cover more area than the 6", but where separation is key it's length heel-to-toe limits it similarly to the 10.5" round DD.

Thanks, i asked because a friend wants a maching like mine an x terra 705. I wasnt sure if i should recommend the standard package or he dual coil. I am thinking of recommending the standard and adding the dd as an option..

If you have use for the 5x10" coil, then the gold pack is the way to go. The 5x10" is a more expensive coil to buy seperately than the stock 9" 7.5kHz concentric coil.

I had found the chart you posted for the x terra but can find it now.

I love the 5x10" myself!

I have the standard 9" 7.5 kHz coil and the 10.5" 18.75 kHz dd coil. My next coil will be the 6" 3.5khz coiltec coil. My friend who is thinking of buying a 705 will probably get the gold pack or the dual coil package.

Gerry,
Where do you use your 10.5" 18.75 kHz coil primarily? I just got one and haven't used it yet. Bought it because it was a good deal. Got the stock coil and the "digger" also.

Thanks,
Mike

I got it to use at the beach.

I have the round 6" 18.75 dd and can say it is a deep coil for it's size. I've found a copper penny at an honest 10". For an HF coil it hits pretty hard and deep on the higher conductors.
