thanks Mainer.. phew.. talk about missing one detail eh.. I dont know a thing about the s thou. but I sure dont need another explorer.

looks like it has a small crack where the lower shaft fits into the control.

You mean the upper shaft? Where it goes into the housing? The S and XS had that problem they corrected it with the Explorer II, by letting the upper shaft go into the housing a little further.

Look in Andy Sabisch's book about mastering the Explorer and E-trak machine. He has some brief history on this machine. I WAS the first of the Explorer series machines. lots of glitches. I bought an updated Explorer in 1999, the first Explorer XS, and I cured my problem of the cracked housing by drilling 3 small hole in the housing, (where the shaft enters), then I shortened 3 brass screws, and screwed the shaft to the control box. Then I put silicone sealant around the area to make sure no moisture could ever enter. I can still remove screws to break down for air travel. Works great, and never comes loose whilst hunting......NGE

Hello all and Urdaboss. I am the person who wanted to buy Urdaboss explorer S. my name is Stasys I from Lithuania,38years male , I have some time in this and other metal detecting forums, i did some bussines with Iron pach, on other forum with Jeffry Herk- who make aluminium explorer hand supports- you can ask them. I wanted to by Urdaboss explorer s and I was totally happy with price 300$+55 shipping, but sadly I found only in this post that on this like new explorer S is small split there upper shafts connect control panel, possibly not big deal! but why not to say me-buyer about this split? second question how to pay if seller dont use Paypal? Ok not big deal its possible to pay buy transfer money from my account to sellers, or to pay plus 34$ to Western Union and get 389$ for like new explorer S with small defect Sorry,now when I know about split I can pay max 300$ with shiping but not 389$ for explorer S with small defect? usually splits in lower shaft conection its big problem! The reason i did not buy it was the problem with the head phone jack being loose that told me it was not like new...........And i then thought there would be other problems with it and there was......... just put it on ebay.........And i would never give out my bank account number.........
