Detector(s) used
Minelab Explorer II
I have been using a minelab explorer II very heavily for about 6 years now. I have never had any problems with it, but this morning after about an hour of detecting it stopped working. Battery is at full power. I removed the battery and put it back. I disconnected the coil cable and reconnected it. When I press the power button, I hear a faint clicking sound but the detector does not power up.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I work on Minelab Excaliburs only and the one thing I aways ask.....Anything lead up to the event, the last time you used it, ruff ride home, rain, dropped?....Any strange smells from inside the speaker area...if it is out of the blue make sure the detector is getting power, measured at the Boards/PCB. Good Luck...

Same thing just happened to mine. Acts like dead battery but I put on the one that takes AAs and it does the same thing?

Sounds like the seals dried out probably got water in the control head. Sun takes its toll on everything after 6 years. I would either call MineLab or pull the batteries open it up and pack it in rice to try to dry it
