I have upgraded to the Minelab CTX3030 and now have decided to sell my Minelab Excalibur II. I have had this machine about five or six years and used it three or four times each Summer. I have made plenty of nice finds with the detector and went into the water yesterday to make sure it was in good working order and found one silver ring, one ornate but cheap earring, and $1.37 in change, so it works well. The battery is still strong, it held a charge since last Summer, but I did recharge the battery before going out to our private lake. The headphones are loud and clear and all the features are in good working order. There are small scratches on the stem and these are due to sand. When detecting in water small sand gets into areas between the stem and battery and electronics and when removing these for cleaning the sand scratches the stem, can't be helped. Sand also gets into the connecting points where the stem comes together and makes it hard to take apart, so there are small scratches there also. Like I said sand will always get into these areas and the secret is washing the detector each time after use. Included is an Anderson Shaft and also a knob guard. You will need to get some plastic bolts and nuts for the knob guard and these can be had at Lowes in the hardware section, I lost the plastic bolts because I found the knob guard just something I didn't want to use any longer, but knob protection is kind of important. I have used this detector a few times with scuba gear and have gone down about 15 feet with no problem, although scuba diving and detecting are not an easy combination, so the dive stem is included. Included also is an after market battery charger which charges the battery quickly and also the original box and instruction manual. Price is $1000, Paypal.
