Minelab etrac question

Hi all I was wondering if I could get some help. My question is, I downloaded Andy's coin pattern opened up for jewelry. Does the quickmast have to be downloaded too. Is the quickmast a separate deal on etrac. I don't understand. People say when u got a signal go to quickmast and see what it says I don't understand

You are over thinking it! There is a "quick mask" button on your display face. Pushing this button toggles you between your pattern and QM mode. When in QM mode, you can use the up/down and left/right buttons to adjust the amount of "mask". As stated earlier, I recommend having an open screen to check for iron.

When you have a coin signal with lots of number bounce, switch to QM and scan the target. Do the target numbers stay up in the good area, or do they drop all the way down into the lower/right corner?
