Metal Detecting
I just got my e-trac and wanted to see what it could do at a site that I've pounded pretty hard. At that site using the stock search coil I unearthed a few wheat pennies, some clad coins and a Mercury dime. I also wanted to see what it could do with the newly purchased CORS Fortune search coil so I decided to hit some old pounded to death curb strips. As I working my way down the street a lady walked out with her dog and I asked her if I could detect her nice corner lot. She said have at it. I've been wanting to detect this corner lot for a few years now because I've found some good silver coins, a couple of buffalo nickels and a Indian Head penny in the curb strip in front of her house.

I carefully grid searched the yard and found a Walking Liberty, a couple of Rosie dimes, around 15 wheat pennies and a Eagle Button. I went back over the yard again with the Equinox and found one more wheat penny that was over some iron. BTW, the Walker was less that 2 inches deep, it gave a reading of 5-46 and it about blew my ears off.

Wow! Nice finds on all that Silver and the button. I'd consider that one heck of a day. WTG!!

Great hunt on your new permission, nice silvers, congratulations on all

Very nice indeed! Your strategy seems to be like mine? Go over the hunted out areas with my Etrac and the Tornado coil for anything deep missed. Then follow it up with my Equinox to pluck the masked coins mixed with trash. It's working out pretty well for me. I've only found one Standing Liberty. Congrats.

I just love nice ladies walking dogs.

What a great opportunity and finds. Beautiful Walker and condition. Great job.

Congrats on all the silver! :occasion14:

Great post good to see your getting some goodies

Fantastic! I want a day like that. Would a new detector help me? Probably not...it's all about location, location, location. Gary

Congrats tabman, looks like a great day with your new E-TRAC!

Tabman you never stop amazing me. I honestly believe that you could duct tape a 9-volt battery to a golf club and still find silver and relics. Congrats to you, with the aid of the new E-Trac, on another successful hunt. SD

Thanks Everyone! It was a goreous day and I got lucky getting that permission. I'm going to be taking that lady some nice homegrown tomatoes this Summer. Maybe she knows a neighbor or two that'll let me detect their yards as well. It pays to be nice.

I'm having fun comparing the eTrac to the CTX 3030. There are things that I like more about each.

That's some really nice finds. I like the idea of paying her back somehow. You never know what that might lead to.

Nice BIG silver! Nice little ones too :laughing7: Congrats! :icon_thumleft:
