Hello fellow Tnetters,
No picture here yet for this one. Wondering if anyone knows about a milk token I found yesterday. It has I.BERNS W.Division st. Bell P. 2546 on the obverse. The front has Good for 1 Pint of Milk. It is rectangular in shape approximately 1"X 1 1/2".
Searched the net with no results. Was wondering if anyone else has found one like it. Not sure where W. Division st. is located. Any help would be great. Thanks and be safe out there. HH....Jgas

South Bend Indiana is where I found it. About 2 inches deep near a trash pit area of a 1910 home.

You may want to check with someone from Chicago IL. Their Division Street is one of the nations most well known and it's been around a long time. The Bell P. may stand for the Bell Park district that West Division used to run through.

Dave--the "Bell P". stands for "Bell Phone" and is their phone number. This is from the days when there could be multiple telephone companies operating in a town and had overlapping telephone numbers. I've seen ads with both Bell and Independent phone numbers so the business could be reached by subscribers from either system. If a business was really on the ball, they would arrange to get the same number from each company - I've seen ads stating "both phones xx".

There is more info in the Tokens and Tags category.
