These are a some pics of a Milk jar that a buddy found. We cannot figure out who made it/ what is it worth and how old is it? Please help....Thanks jgas
Nice, clean milk bottle, most likely part of a dairy co-operative. No hits in a quick search but you could try contacting your local ag dept office for information (used that method several times in the past with good results).
My best guess is a mid 50's bottle but could be a few years newer.
EDIT: Value could be anywhere from a few dollars to a hundred or more depending on rarity, popularity etc. I would put a value on yours at between $15-25 . (best s.w.a.g.)
I agree with Blacksheep. mid 1900's. Probably a local dairy. Like Blacksheep said you could check with the agriculture dept. or you might ask some older people in the area as these bottles were usually delivered to the homes.
I agree with the others its most likely a very local small dairy. We had a ton of small dairys here in the 50's. Your towns historical society may be interested.
Thanks for the info everyone. The guy that found it was digging in an early privy. He said 1910-1920. The bottom letters and numbers, he says, would date it to 1914 or 1915 due to the number being embossed on the bottom. So not real sure about the 1950's date. But who knows. I knew it would be a hard one to figure out. Hopefully the Purdue Dairy/AG department would know. Just not getting a reply from them yet. Thanks for the help guys. jgas
