Found this ring along side a rock wall bordering the property about 500 feet from the the foundation. This site is from the late 1700s-1880s.There are miles of rock walls everywhere i just desided to follow the rock wall in,i stopped to releave myself i said this looks like a good spot, turned on my detector my first hit ring pulltab i said just another pulltab 10 inches down up came that ring, did the man making that rock wall drop this ring? There are 3 eagles on the ring,2 shields with 8 stars inside the shield.all it says is sterling on the inside no makers mark.If anyone has any information on its age, value, domain i would be very thankful.
thanks gary

I've seen similar rings from the WW2 - Korean War era that look a lot like that one. It's kind a generic Army ring. As to value I would guess what someone is willing to pay for it. Maybe do an ebay search and see if something like that has sold in the last few weeks or listed now. Any kind of engraving on the inside?

I remember my Top sergent in Vietnam had one like that. He said that his girlfriend, later wife, had given it to him when he had left for Korea. You can tell by the wear on the sides that someone wore that ring for a long time, the value to him would have been priceless. Tony

Is that printing inside the ring when the top is opened? And I see some letters above one of the eagles but can't make it out. Monty
