Hey guys need a little bit of help on this one. Got back out to my 1830s fort site and found this thin stamped brass tongue portion of a sash buckle. Not knowing much about these I’m wondering if it’s likely military/militia. Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes it was. Although the wreath buckle is a heavy buckle and is a pattern 1834 US wreath buckle😀
The tongue would have had a design also?
I can't remember the reference picture that was posted.

The tongue for the wreath would have had a US on it. The tongue I found yesterday is a thinner stamped brass piece. It has two connection holes on the front. I don’t think the wreath buckle matches my sash tongue buckle

The other one was an officer's buckle.
This one was part of an enlisted maybe?
Nice recovery either way

Great Save of Historical Artifacts. As stated, it is a "Keeper" regardless. Stay on this site.
