I know this is some kind of military ribbon but don't know the branch of service or designation of the medal (Didn't have the privilege of serving myself). From web research it seems to be a Meritorious Service Medal. I found it on a softball field, which seems kind of strange. It was just below the turf and seems to have been stepped on a few times as the studs are bent. Also notice that the stud backs are still on it. Makes me think some kid found it in dad's drawer or something and lost it. That's what I love about this hobby; never know what you'll dig up.

Probably dropped when an honor guard raised a flag or practiced marching for Veteran's day or???Who knows? Just some guesses. Monty

Yep, definately an MSM...worth 5 points towards promotion in the USAF! I have three so far :)

Typically, an enlisted member would earn one of these after meriorious service and presented it at the end of a tour. Mostly reserved for E-7 and up but have seen E-6 receive them.

Happy Hunting!

I don't think it fell off a uniform, like I mentioned earlier, the backs are still attached to the studs. About the last thing you'd expect to pull out of a softball field. Thanks for the response.
