My buddy says it WW2... Modern. I'm not convinced.

US Army Hat Badge is my guess, some are mounted on a disc, some are not. Your pgotos aren't clear on my cell phone.

From the size I'd think it's a WW2 or later enlisted mans cap badge that's missing the disk that it would have been mounted to\
