Military?? or just Grapes ??? and an unusual button!

Found these things in an old field yesterday. I thought at first the pin(?) is grapes, but now I am wondering if it is military. Also the 12mm pewter button is very old and unusual.

Any help in the ID of these items?

The button is a typical 1830ish type.
