Jewelry? What's on the back?

Nothing on back. Just pewter. Front has gold on it

I'm not a military person, but I'm thinking costume jewelry piece. Possibly had a pin on back or a loop on top to hook to a necklace. Some costume jewelry was/is made of pot metal, pewter, lead and just about any other metals or alloy. Just my thoughts.
