Just wondering if any body has ever seen a knife like this one. It has a handle similar to a kabar bit is so crusty and rusty that I can't see any markings. I found the knife in the basement of an abandoned house .The basement is partially collapsed so I did not stay in there to long. There was a lot of other stuff in there but water damage and animals pretty much destroyed most of it. I did find some old silver plated forks and such but most of the plating is gone.

Dagger... I dunno if military. If there's are no attachment points it not a bayonet.

Thats a great find birdman! I hope someone IDs it!

U.S. version of the British Sykes-Fairbairn SAS commando dagger. I believe the designation was Case V-42 or something like that and it was used by our special forces.

I don't think they were common so that's a dandy find IF it's an original. Copies were and are made.. Note the variations in the cross-guard.

The most authentic one is copy protected (drat) but actually looks much like yours. Does the blade say CASE above the guard and have a machined thumb grip?

Very cool Charlie ! I hope its original but I will have to clean up the blade ,it is rusted over right now. I have the sheath also but it is pretty rough.
