It's one of the variations of the Swiss M18 (M18, M18-40, or M18-43). Introduced around 1918 and used until the 1970's IIRC. So it was made for many years.

Seen them go for $30.00 and up so $5.00 isn't bad at all. Big thing is you need to do the research and figure out when your helmet and liner were made, to determine an actual value for it. $30.00 for newer post war helmets, war time and older helmets go for more. Most (Won't say all) of them are marked on the inside (Helmet side) of the liner with the date and other information.

Heck I would have bought it for $5.00 and never looked back. Don't have a Swiss helmet yet in my collection. This is just the helmets in my military collection so far. The issued ones are "The Actual" helmets that I actually wore during my career.

01) WWII German Army (Heer) M-40 helmet single decal
02) East German (DDR) M1956/76 helmet
03) Swedish Civil Defense (Civilforvar) M37 helmet
04) East German (DDR) M1956/76 helmet w/ netting
05) US HGU-55/P flight helmet w/ MBU-12/P oxygen mask
06) US Kevlar helmet w/ woodland camouflage cover (Issued to TSgt Bernhardt)
07) US Kevlar helmet w/ desert (Mary-Kay) camouflage cover (Issued to TSgt Bernhardt)
08) US Kevlar helmet w/ desert (Chocolate-Chip) camouflage cover (Issued to TSgt Bernhardt)
09) US Kevlar helmet w/ woodland camouflage cover (Issued to TSgt Bernhardt)
10) US SPH-4 helicopter helmet
11) British WWII helmet (Need to figure out which model)
12) US WWII/Korea War era M-1 helmet
13) US HGU-26/P flight helmet w/ MBU-5/P oxygen mask
14) Chinese TK-1 high altitude helmet (Copy of the Russian GSH-4 helmet)
15) US Vietnam era M-1 helmet w/ woodland camouflage cover and netting (Issued to TSgt Bernhardt)

Your liner is dated 1975 as you know, this type of liner came out in 1963. The helmet model itself can be identified by the the shape and length of the visor flares. Corrected my fat fingering of the key-board below. that should have read 63 not 43. But you are most likely looking at a M18-63.

Swiss M18 (M18, M18-40, or M18-63) M18 designed in 1918, M18-40 modified in 1940, M18-63 modified in 1963.
