What is it? Army green finish…. Gizmo.
I picked this up a long time ago at a tag sale. Figure there some real old time experienced folks here to help figure out this object.
Printed : Waller Tool Co. Chicago, Ill.
For years I have asked a few friends and no one could come up with the exact identity of this object. We all agree it was some kind of cutting tool that has a variable length adjustment.
Any and all comments welcome.

Good ID. It appears to be a carpenters tool for cutting out butt hinges and mortises on doors. I never used this type myself but it may have some antique value to a Stanley tool collector or value to a carpenter that does old home restorations the old fashioned way.. It says Waller was bought out by Stanley Tool Co. in the 1930's.
