Your button appears to be a French 6th Light Infantry uniform button from the Napoleonic War time frame. Nice find!

Thats not really a big factor in buttons, they travel all over the world, not just during the battles.

I agree with you on that. I've gotten over a dozen rare buttons that were in the wrong location lol.

Buttons, jackets and POWs may have traveled further East than soldiers.
