Looks like a cuff button on the Army's dress green uniform. Also could be a pocket botton from the same uniform (dress greens) On the saucer hats there are two buttons, one on each side, for the chin strap, might be one of them???????

The fox is right, a U.S. Army great seal button - depending on size it was worn all over the uniform!
This style button dates 1902 to Present.


Your find: Arnstein, Simon & Co (I think)... San Fransisco. - 1910s - 1920s (I think)
