Military Button? What Time Period?

I figure this is a military button but do not know what time period. Let me know if you are sure bc there are a lot of buttons that look similar to this one. Thank you ahead of time for being awesome!

The war the shield is raised in the center, it is probably an Indian Wars period Army general service button. Nice find.

It is a US Army enlisted-man's "general service" button, with (as Smokeythecat noted) a very high-raised shield on the eagle's chest, which means it is the 1875-1902 version. More specifically, the backmark saying Waterbury Button Co written in "plain-block" lettering means it is from the last 10 years or so of your button's 1875-1902 range. I'd call it a Spanish-American War era US Army eagle-button.

I would like that my town was founded in 1826 first coin was dropped in 1919 and immediatley picked up first relic was a pop top and now its our Stat Flower.
