MassachusettsIn what state was it found?
Scratched looks like brassThere was a 19th regiment in the continental army and a 19th infantry which fought in several battles in the War of 1812? Your button doesn't look French and doesn't look like the British 19th which fought in the revolutionary war and who mostly served in South Carolina. That's why I was wondering in which state it was found. Looks pewter and if so it would date to late 1700s early 1800s. Haven't seen one like it in any of my books though.
What you may have found is a vintage numbered brass tack used for numbering and keeping track of windows/screens etc. Acro Industries is one company that I know made them. Just a thought but it looks similar to the gold colored ones pictured below. Or its a military button……Is this a military cuff button can't seem to find anything about it.
