Military button age?

Hello!

I dug this button on the grounds of an old elementary school yesterday in Eugene Oregon.

It's 28mm in diameter ~ copper ~ the back reads, "SCOVILL MF'G CO. - WATERBURY". What years were these buttons made and used?

That Scovill button shows the great seal, adopted in 1902 and still used today. I think your backmark was used from 1902-1918.

And it's copper... blackened copper = WWI.
