Militaria guys, help me out please!

Found this last week in an area that would have history back to the war of 1812 (or further since Jeff found a KG copper 1735!)
Anyway, was super deep, much deeper than the silver, buff and coppers were located, but I know that doesn't really mean much.
any ideas on this guys? no writing/markings on it.

It looks like the center of a hat badge - 1920's - 30's

I agree it looks like part of a hat/cap badge, the only thing is I can not find a match for the feathers above the legs on the eagle. Notice in the pictures below how the feathers above the leg are thin, where as on OP's they are thick.
