I was thinking early bird gets the worm. I've had enough 0-dark thirty mornings in the military. So I decided to apply the night owl catches some too.

I went out tonight at low tide (1130) to see what I could find because I know the locals get out early morning.

There was no moonlight just a little light from the stars and a few buildings. It wasn't too bad except when it came time to check my scoop. That was a little challenging.

I found more tonight than I had during the day time. I'm not sure if it was the fact that no one was out on the beach that I had to maneuver around or the possibility of a fresh area that no one had detected for the day...

Here's what I found in 3 hours. Best to worst:
Split ring
Friendship bead
Belly button ring
6 quarters (1-1967)
3 dimes
4 nickels
9 pennys
12 bottle caps
13 1/2 pull tabs

Nice finds lawrence. Personally, I have found that I don't feel as rushed in evening hunts...

Nite hunts have their own special charm! I used to hunt at night a lot when I was a beginner because I didn't want anyone looking at me. :laughing7:

Their still looking...Just with night vision goggles!:laughing7:

I know they are watching. I had a guy come up and talk to me 3 different times to see what I had found.

I was surprised to see people on the beach that late. Some walking and some sitting on the beach.

At times people give me the evil eye as if I am bothering them.

:laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: that is funny, I hate when people look at me.
I go out at 4:30 or 5 A.M only people out then are joggers and fishermen
O, maybe a couple or 2 under the lifeguard tower :icon_scratch: the ladies always
seem to run away.....:laughing7:

Yep people are amazing.

Some people are just jealous that they are not or cannot be out hunting.

I haven't decided if I'm going out this evening, late night or first thing in the morning. They are shooting off fireworks here tonight. Maybe i'll find something great!

Yes I need the other half of the pull tab. I can't complete my headband without it.

I just went out boogie boarding and the beach is packed. I'm going out tonight for sure!

It's high tide right now and I'm dying to go right now but it won't turn out well.

I've got my Excalibur on charge getting ready for the hunt.

Ill be at Cocoa Beach this week. Driving down with the family from Kentucky. Plan to detect that beach as well.

I'd love to find some inland sites to detect as well. If any detectors from Florida got any tips for me I'd appreciate it.

EcMason let me know how you do with your hunts.

It is a great place. We are the 3rd condo south of the cocoa pier.
