Mid length scoo...what do you suggest

For dry sand hunting, I like the Beachmaster 2-in-1 sand scoop. Kellyco has a large picture for you to get an idea what it looks like, but they also the most expensive price. The cheapest I found was: http://metaldetectingworld.com/281-1-2in1beachmaster.html

It is nice is that the dry sand sifts through very fast, and with the adjustable handle, it can be customized to suit your preferences. Don't want to use the handle? Then take it off and just use the scoop

Just want to second this great advice! :headbang:

For dry sand hunting and even wet you don't need a giant scoop. You have time to dig your targets. Mesh works better in dry sand. It sifts much faster than drilled holes. But you need a quality mesh that can take your foot pressure. A 5 inch diameter scoop is all you need in the dry and upper wet. Don't carry a monster. You don't need to.

I've got one like the beachmaster that was linked, but is a 1 piece. It is great for the dry sand. Light and sifts fast. I have Reilly's Treasured Gold solid stainless 6" for water. Very durable, heavy, had it for at least 15 years, same with other scoop too, and neither has broken. The mesh on the dry sand one is rusted, but it is just superficial. I have used the dry sand one in saltwater many times, and most likely havent washed it after, so I think it is doing real good.
