This unusually warm day was a treat. I never expected to be metal detecting in mid December. Wonders never cease. I hunted a park today and, let me tell you, the ground was very wet and muddy. My gloves were so muddy and torn from the hunt I just threw them away. My first good find was a 1912d Barber dime. It was a real surprise because I've only found Mercury dimes at this place. That Barber was only about 5" or 6" deep. Then I got another good signal that turned out to be, yup, a 1936 Mercury dime. About an hour or so later I got a signal where the conductivity number bounced back and forth from 43 to 44. I thought it was going to be a penny. Even though I was cherry picking, something told me to dig. It turned out to be a 1962d silver Rosie! 1962 is the year I was born, so that was a cool find for me. It was great to be able to hunt again and even find some silver coins.
Here is a video from the hunt:
Isn't that a pretty face?
